Other Ranger Services

The Shire of Exmouth employs three full-time Rangers who are based at the Shire of Exmouth Depot on Welch Street.

Council’s Rangers are Local Government law enforcement officers, responsible for the management of a number of State Government Acts, Regulations and Local laws adopted by the Shire of Exmouth within the district.

Our Rangers work very closely with the Police, other State Government and Commonwealth Government departments in ensuring the security and protection of the local district and community.

The main issues faced by Council’s Rangers at present are illegal camping and stray dogs. Other key areas the Rangers manage are:

  • Abandoned Vehicles
  • Parking
  • Control of Vehicles in Off-Road Areas
  • Advertising and Trading on Thoroughfares and Public Places
  • Exmouth Marina Village Canal Waterways
  • Littering, including unsecured loads
  • Emergency Services
  • Fire Hazards

For further information on any of the above please contact our Ranger Services Team on 0428 518 413.

Important information regarding all infringements

  • All infringements must be paid within 28 days of the date of issue of the infringement notice.
  • If payment is not made or a driver is not nominated (in the case of parking infringements), a final demand will be issued with additional penalties. Please be aware that a driver cannot be nominated during the final demand stage.
  • If the payment has not been received after the final demand has been issued, the matter will be forwarded to the Fines Enforcement Registry for cost recovery.  Further monetary penalties may incur an automatic suspension of your driver's licence.
  • Over the Christmas/New Year period, infringement appeals could take up to 21 business days to be resolved.  At other times they are generally resolved within a shorter timeframe.  If you are still awaiting a response outside of this timeframe, please contact us on 0428 518 413.
