The Ningaloo Centre is a research, education, tourism & community hub commensurate with the Shire of Exmouth’s vision of supporting and developing a vibrant, welcoming community that embraces its past, values its present and plans for a sustainable future.

The landmark building is host to first class conference and community spaces and has fast become a must-see attraction for the region with its educational and contemporary visitor experience that promotes the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage area.

Closed:  Christmas Day

Please note that entry into the Ningaloo Aquarium & Discovery Centre closes one hour before the centre closes. Open most public holidays. Opening hours are subject to visitor seasonality.

Ningaloo Aquarium and Discovery Centre

The Ningaloo Aquarium & Discovery Centre is a must-see attraction for the region and has fast become as a favourite Ningaloo experience to visitors and locals since opening in 2018.

The interactive, state of the art displays showcase the wonderfully distinctive wildlife and storied history of the region, delivering an entertaining and educational experience for all ages.

Explore the wildly diverse flora and fauna that lives between the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and Cape Range National Park, discover the ancient landscapes and unique cave systems, ranges, dunes, gorges, stygofauna and geological systems of this fabled terrain and experience the history of the town of Exmouth.

Home to Australia’s largest live coral Aquarium of its kind, the impressive 60,000 litre tank showcases over 50 different endemic species native to the Ningaloo Reef. An additional 14 aquariums are displayed throughout and further highlight the impressive range of species found on the Ningaloo Reef (including fish, rays, eels, seahorses, starfish, coral and octopus).  Other ‘not to be missed’ attractions within the Ningaloo Aquarium & Discovery Centre include the cyclone simulation room, design & release digital fish tank and interactive cave system.

Entry tickets to the Ningaloo Aquarium & Discovery Centre can be purchased at the Ningaloo Visitor Centre counter opposite the entry gate. Tours & group bookings are also available. It is recommended to allow at least 90 minutes for the experience.
