Due to damage from Tropical Cyclone Narelle, Learmonth Airport is operating with reduced screening services. Only essential items (wallets, phones, small personal items) may be taken into the cabin. All other bags will be placed in the aircraft hold. The Check-in Terminal will open on Thursday 30 April 2026, please follow staff directions to the Heliport following check-in and treat all personnel with respect during this temporary process. The Shire has developed a draft Sporting Precinct Master Plan to guide future investment in our sport and recreation facilities.

The draft plan responds to ageing infrastructure, rising community expectations, and the need for modern, flexible, and accessible spaces that support people of all ages.

It outlines upgrades to key recreation facilities and shared community spaces, opportunities for indoor and multipurpose use, improved all‑abilities access, and environmentally responsive design suited to our climate, including shade, water‑wise features, and renewable energy.

The plan also supports the future economy of sport in our remote region and strengthens access to safer emergency‑response resources. A staged delivery approach will ensure improvements can be delivered sustainably over time.
