BE AWARE OF BORER BEETLE IN EXMOUTH AREA
Please be aware that there is a presence of Borer beetle within the Shire of Exmouth, this notice is to inform the community and encourage you to keep a lookout for any borer beetle signs within your property.
The Shire of Exmouth Parks Team have found Borer Beetle in 12 trees within the town area of Exmouth. The trees with the beetle were located in Crevalle Park, Ningaloo Centre and near the big Prawn.
These beetles are very hard to control once established, and removal and burning of the tree is the best course of action to control the spread of this beetle. These trees will be removed and burnt immediately to help control any movement and spread of the beetle.
If you see any indication of these beetles on any of the Shire owned properties, please let the Shire of Exmouth know as soon as possible. Please see the images below of what the beetles look like and use the MyPestGuide Reporter app to help identify any potential borer beetles you see.
