The not-for-profit organisation Exmouth Cultural Arts Centre (ECAC) promotes and develops the participation and enjoyment of performing and fine arts. Mentoring artists and bringing Exmouth families and the whole community together - across generations.

ECAC contacted the award-winning circus trio Jack Coleman, Jamie Bretman and Simon Wright to come to Exmouth to facilitate an afternoon children's workshop at the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool and perform their newest show success 'Splashtest Dummies'.

The show is the second creation of Dummies Corp. debuting in 2017. It received critical acclaim both in Australia and worldwide and charms visitors with its balance of physical comedy, circus and audience interaction. Described as a 'show of oceanic proportions' it is a fantastic fit for Exmouth and its residents.

While Woodside will fund the artistic workshop at the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool, the Shire of Exmouth has been happy to collaborate directly with the artists to realise a community evening event on 7 March 2021. With the Ningaloo Centre as a state-of-the-art venue, the show sold out in less than 48 hours, showcasing the community's excitement.

ABOUT DUMMIES CORP
Founded in 2012, Dummies Corp has been delighting audiences young and old with a nuanced blend of circus, comedy and imaginative play, creating shared and treasured experiences for families across Australia and around the world. Bretman, Coleman and Wright are highly skilled circus performers who created Trash Test Dummies in 2013 and have been touring nationally and internationally ever since. They have performed for sell-out crowds and have been critically acclaimed in Australia, Asia and Europe winning a host of awards including the coveted Best Children's Presentation at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2015.

COMMENTS ATTRIBUTED TO THE SHIRE OF EXMOUTH – SHIRE PRESIDENT MATTHEW NIIKKULA

"From tightrope to trapeze, circus arts have long fascinated and inspired people of all ages, and studies show that every dollar invested for a child in a circus training program, seven dollars are potentially saved in their future mental health costs. So the Council is excited to have such an initiative visiting our town."

"Council will look closer into further opportunities to bring community events that are teaching perseverance, building confidence and self-esteem, and increasing overall mental well-being."
