The Shire of Exmouth witnessed a moving and well-attended ANZAC Day Dawn Service today, with an estimated crowd of over 500 residents and visitors gathering to pay their respects. The service, held at the Exmouth Cenotaph, commemorated the 110th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli and honoured the service and sacrifice of all Australian and New Zealand service personnel, past and present.

The large turnout underscored the deep respect and gratitude the Exmouth community holds for the ANZAC legacy and the ongoing contributions of Defence personnel. The service included traditional elements such as the laying of wreaths, the reciting of the Ode of Remembrance, the Last Post, and a period of silent reflection.

The event highlighted the significant presence of Defence personnel in the Exmouth region due to the presence of [Mention specific Defence facilities or units in Exmouth. Speakers at the service emphasised the close relationship between the Defence community and the broader Exmouth population, recognising the contributions of Defence members and their families to the social and economic fabric of the town.

Following the Dawn Service, attendees participated in the traditional ANZAC Day March, proceeding from the Cenotaph to the Truscott Memorial Club, where a Gunfire Breakfast was held - providing an opportunity for the community to gather, share stories, and reflect on the significance of the day.
