Exploring WA's Deep Sea, comes to Exmouth's Tantabiddi Travelling Gallery, located within the Ningaloo Visitor's Centre until 30 June. This free exhibition showcases groundbreaking scientific discoveries and breathtaking underwater marvels, giving visitors a unique opportunity to experience some of the world's most breathtaking and mysterious deep-sea environments found within Australia's marine parks. Highlights include captivating footage of the deepest fish ever filmed in Australian waters, alongside preserved specimens of the deepest fish ever collected here.

The exhibition showcases the scientific discoveries from the Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Centre’s two-year project, which explored the biology, ecology, geomorphology, and oceanography of the deepest regions of Australia’s marine reserves: the Gascoyne Marine Reserve, Perth Canyon Marine Reserve, and South-west Corner Marine Reserve. Visitors can experience the WA deep-sea environment through underwater footage, Indigenous artwork, preserved specimens, and research technology.

Deputy Director of the Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Centre Dr. Todd Bond emphasised the importance of sharing these discoveries, "As deep-sea scientists, we get to explore and visit the deepest places on Earth – now this exhibition will bring what we see and experience into the public eye." Entertaining and enlightening for children and adults alike, this exhibit brings a deeper understanding and appreciation of what lies in the deep seas.

Held in collaboration with the WA Museum, Minderoo Foundation and Parks Australia, the exhibition features Indigenous artwork by Wadandi Noongar and Ait Koedhal artist Tyrown Waigana. The deep-sea project is funded by the Australian Government's Our Marine Parks Grants program, with additional funding provided by Minderoo Foundation.

"As West Australians, the ocean is in our blood, but many people don't know about the diverse and rich deep sea just off the coast of Exmouth, Perth and Augusta. Come and find out what lives on the seafloor in 5000m of water off the back of Ningaloo Reef."

"This exhibition not only celebrates the rich biodiversity of Western Australia’s marine parks but also showcases the collaboration of different disciplines to explore our deep sea."
