Published: Tuesday, 5 November 2019 at 8:55:35 AM

If you are a woman aged 40 or over you can access the FREE screening mammography service in Exmouth. BreastScreen WA’s mobile service will be located at Exmouth District Hospital, Lyon Street from 6/12/2019 to 19/12/2019.

Breast cancer is the most common life-threatening cancer for women and one in eight women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Screening mammograms may detect 70-90% of Breast Cancers and having a screening mammogram (breast x-ray) every two years significantly increases the chance of a woman surviving breast cancer and reduces the amount of treatment required.

To ensure the success of service offered, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • You have to be 40 years of age or older
  • Appointments are necessary and can be made online breastscreen.health.wa.gov.au or by telephoning 13 20 50
  • Dates may be subject to change.
  • Any woman with a persistent change in a breast should see her doctor immediately.

If visit dates are not suitable clients are welcome to book at another clinic of their choice in a different town or at any of our fixed clinics in Bunbury or metropolitan Perth. Please note, that any woman with a persistent change in a breast should see her doctor immediately. For more information please visit BreastScreen WA’s website www.breastscreen.health.wa.gov.au.
