KidSport is part of the $20 million State Government initiative Sport 4 All, which will run over four years from 2011. KidSport is administered by the Shire of Exmouth in partnership with the Department of Sport and Recreation.

How the Program Works

KidSport aims to increase participation in community sport and recreation throughout Western Australia by removing the financial barrier for children and young people joining local sporting clubs. Eligible families can receive subsidies of up to $200 per calendar year for each child to go toward sporting costs, including club registration fees, uniforms and equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be aged between 5 - 18 years
  • Applicants must have a Health Care Card or a Pension Concession Card (or have their eligibility confirmed by a Referral Agency)
  • The applicant's primary place of residence must be within the Shire of Exmouth (exceptions may apply)

How to Receive KidSport Funding

  1. Obtain a KidSport Voucher from the Shire offices, school or sporting club (or download one here)
  2. Bring the completed KidSport Voucher, together with your Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card to the Shire of Exmouth offices (or email both to records@exmouth.wa.gov.au).   
  3. Processing of your application can take up to one week.
  4. If approved, you will be contacted to collect your approved KidSport voucher from the Shire offices.
  5. Submit the approved voucher to the registered KidSport Club of your choice during registrations
  6. Have fun!

Important Information

  • KidSport funding cannot be received retrospectively and no refunds will be made if club fees have already been paid
  • Vouchers must be approved before presentation to the KidSport Club of your choice.
  • Funds are paid directly to the Club, not to the applicant
  • There is no limit to how many children in a family that can apply for the funding, provided they meet the eligbility criteria
  • There is no limit to how many clubs the child can join in one calendar year however KidSport funding will only provide a maximum of $200 for sporting costs associated with registered KidSport Clubs (providing applicants meet the eligibility criteria)
  • Fees are only for the nominated registered season.

Clubs need to register with the Shire of Exmouth before participating in the KidSport program by downloading the form below and submitting it to the Shire for processing.

To be eligible Clubs need to be not-for-profit organisations and / or a member of their State Sporting Association (if applicable)

Referral Agencies 

Referral Agencies can confirm eligibility of children who would benefit from KidSport in special circumstances or when it is not possible for the applicant to present their Health Care Card or Pension Conceesion Card.

To become a recognised Referral Agency complete the form below and return it to the Shire of Exmouth.
