Check-in
Airlines recommend that you present for check-in no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
Parking
Pay and display parking is available at the airport.
Food and Beverages
Vending machines (EFTPOS only) at the airport are available for the use of passengers (departure).
Security Screening
Security screening is in operation at Learmonth Airport for all persons and their baggage and the screening point generally opens around 1 hour prior to the departure of the aircraft. There are a number of steps that you can take to make the screening process quicker and easier.
Please remember that certain items are not permitted on board. You will need to surrender these before you pass through the security screening point. Check with your airline beforehand to find out what you can't take on board and either leave it at home or pack it in your checked baggage if permitted.
Your carry-on bags may be screened in a number of ways, including:
- X-ray examination;
- testing for chemical residues using Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment; or
- physical search.
Make sure that mobile phones, keys, coins, belts and metallic decorative items are either placed in your checked baggage or in the small trays provided at the screening point entrance. You should also remove your laptop computer from its case and place it in one of the trays provided at the screening point for x-ray examination.
If you have a non-standard camera or film, please discuss how these can be examined with the officers at the security screening point. You should also let the security screening officer know if you have any medically necessary syringes in your carry-on baggage.
You will also be asked to walk through a metal detector. You may be asked to remove your shoes, your belt or other metal objects such as piercings that may cause an alarm to sound.
If the metal detector alarm sounds, you will be asked by the screening officer to remove any metal objects and place them on the trays provided. You will then be asked to walk through the metal detector a second time.
If the metal detector sounds again, you might also be asked to take part in a frisk (pat down) search. You can ask for that screening to take place in a private room. Please talk to the screening officers to make these arrangements.
Let screening staff know if you have any medical conditions that might cause the metal detector alarm to sound; for example, an implanted metallic joint or a pace-maker.
If you refuse to be screened, you will not be allowed to pass through the security screening point or to board your flight.
